Is Obesity Really Burdensome? Health Implications of Obesity (Co-Morbidities)
These are conditions that are caused by affected by excessive weight. These may involve practically any organ and system of the body, from head to toe. A severely obese person would tend to have a highly burdened heart, stressed weight bearing joints, diminished self-esteem and some form of depression. Other co-morbidities may include sleep apnea, shortness of breath, easy fatigability, hypertension, diabetes, heartburn, gallstones, urinary incontinence, high cholesterol and triglycerides. The obese individual would have higher risk for cancer, strokes, kidney damage, liver problems and accidents. Just being obese may cause infertility.
